One of my favourite subjects to photograph is people and their pets. There is a special kind of magic that happens when photographing people with their pets. I think it has to do with truth and authenticity. A person's true self is revealed, uninhibited, comfortable and entirely themselves. Attentions is drawn away from being the focus of my lens and towards their beloved pet. Love, true love and emotions cannot be hidden or disguised. It's who we are and who/how we were always meant to be.
